A few things…
today Daniel and I road some buses into the city of Morelia in the state of Michoacan. Morelia is known to some as the sweet capital of Mexico, and there is an entire market devoted to sweets (el mercado de dulces)! Yet we walked around it and could not find any dark chocolate bars. or even any chocolate in general that was not a preparation for chocolate to drink! bah!
We did arrive by chance or maybe non-chance however at un mercado de miel (a honey market!), where we purchased raw crystallized honey, a lotion made only of honey, beeswax and pollen, and these small rounds made of ground peanuts, honey and pollen and maybe cinnamon (similar to mazapan which is ground peanuts and sugar). And everyone had a million tiny spoons of honey available for us to taste! yum yum. I love honey. so much.
Another bit of information. We are having weather that is considered unseasonable. It has been raining late in the afternoon here the past few days. Thunder and lightning and rain for an hour or two. People are surprised. What’s going on? It seems like the whole world is having “unseasonable” weather. with floods and earthquakes and hurricanes and “natural disasters”– I feel both fearful, while also I trust in the process of my body, my life and this day. I trust in the process of the universe. whatever it may be.
love, love!
