thinks and things

one of the most popular (in my perception…it is played at every baile to which we have attended) songs here is entitled, “la abeja miope”– it can be found on youtube.  here is a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aNwTY6kdPQ

The only lyrics of the song are:

Esta es a miope miope miope miope miope novia del zancudo loco loco loco loco loco

….

which translates to the myopic (myopic, myopic, myopic, myopic) bee is the girlfriend of the crazy (crazy crazy crazy crazy) mosquito.

……….

This is one of many things that has been a part of my life the past few weeks.  The whole month of December, particularly the end was abundant with weddings, quinceñereas, baptismos, presentaciónes, and all sorts of things that involved, church services, meals and dances and cakes.  I am both sad and happy to see the month pass and the plethora of cars and visitors depart.

We have been thinking about and experiencing all sorts of things…reading things (books and online), learning by doing and exploring, animals, plants, persons, cultures, lives… we are talking about how to support ourselves, how to make some money and how to not need to make money through sustainability.  I feel excited and fearful as we discuss possibilities.  oh life. and will we run out of money and have to return for lack of dinero?  hmm…ever-thinking (AND FEELING AND BEING) am I when I am.

And my spanish progresses in the ways it does.  I have now had conversations with children!! hooray

and we learned that onions are toxic to dogs!  we have three perritos!  I will no longer feed them any onions!

tonight we eat rice and barley cooked in milk and stay cozy.  night night
