with the kind direction of barefoot ted and some scrap leather and rubber, i made these huaraches
based on the indigenous design of the rarámuri (tarahumara) — some of the greatest people and runners of the world.
in canyons of northern méxico, in shoes similar to these, the rarámuri practice the art of distance running.
